On September 28, the Xiangyang to Jingmen high-speed railway (Xiangjing high-speed railway) officially opened for operation.

The Xiangjing high-speed railway starts from Xiangyang East Station on the Zhengzhou to Chongqing high-speed railway, connects to the Wuhan to Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu high-speed railway at Jingmen West Station, with a total length of 116 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The entire line has three stations: Xiangyang East Station, Yicheng Station, and Jingmen West Station, with Yicheng Station being a new station. After opening, the fastest travel time from Xiangyang East to Jingmen West is approximately 29 minutes, reducing the time by 50 minutes compared to existing regular-speed trains.
The Xiangjing high-speed railway connects with the already operational Jingmen to Jingzhou high-speed railway and the soon-to-open Wuhan to Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu high-speed railway at Jingmen West Station and connects with the Zhengzhou to Chongqing high-speed railway and the Wuhan to Shiyan high-speed railway at Xiangyang East Station, forming an important link in the regional high-speed railway network. Initially, up to 26 cross-line EMU trains will be arranged daily.
