The Hefei–Sixian section of the Hefei–Xinyi high-speed railway opened for operation on December 30, and the fastest travel time from Hefei West Station to Sixian East Station is 1 hour and 18 minutes.

The Hexin High-Speed Railway starts at Hefei West Station in Shushan District, Hefei City, Anhui Province, passes through Chuzhou, Bengbu, and Suzhou in Anhui, and Suqian and Xuzhou in Jiangsu, and connects to Xinyi East Station in Xinyi City, Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. The route is about 335 km long with a designed top speed of 350 km/h and is being built in sections. The section opened this time is the Hefei–Sixian segment, while the remaining sections are being advanced in an orderly manner.

The Hefei–Sixian section of the Hexin High-Speed Railway starts at Hefei West Station, passes through Dingyuan County and Mingguang City in Chuzhou, Wuhe County in Bengbu, and connects to Sixian East Station in Sixian County, Suzhou City. The line is 198 km long and has five stations in total: Hefei West, Dingyuan East, Mingguang West, Wuhe, and Sixian East—all newly built. The line operates at a maximum speed of 350 km/h. In the initial period after opening, up to 10 EMU trains will run daily, including 8 interline services. The fastest travel times from Hefei West to Dingyuan East, Mingguang West, Wuhe, and Sixian East are 32 minutes, 46 minutes, 61 minutes, and 78 minutes, respectively.
