On the afternoon of September 29, 2025, the initial operation of the Fuzhou Metro Binhai Express Line started. Binhai Express Line starts from Fuzhou Railway Station and ends at Wenling Station, with a total length of 62.4 kilometers and 15 stations, including 3 elevated stations and 12 underground stations. Gaishan Station and Lianhuashan Station are reserved stations, and Binhai West Station is temporarily deferred from opening in this phase. The trains use a 4-car formation city-region A type, with a maximum operating speed of 140 kilometers per hour.
The operating hours of the Binhai Express Line are from 6:00 to 22:30. Throughout the day, it will operate three types of train services: regular trains, major station express, and direct express. Regular trains stop at every station, while the major station express only stops at Fuzhou Railway Station, Dongmen, Sanchajie (Binhai Express Line), Difengjiang, Dashuju, Airport, and Wenling. The direct express runs only twice a day, with the first departure at 6:00 AM from Fuzhou Railway Station directly to the Airport. The second departs at 6:15 AM from Fuzhou Railway Station, stopping only at Sanchajie (Binhai Express Line) before heading directly to the Airport. It is important to note that there is no direct express service from Wenling to Fuzhou Railway Station. The first departure from Wenling is at 6:30 AM. The major station express runs from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with one trip every hour, departing from Fuzhou Railway Station and the Airport on the hour. According to Fuzhou Metro, passengers can transfer to Line 1 at Fuzhou Railway Station, to Line 4 at Dongmen Station, and to Line 4 and Line 5 at Difengjiang Station. In addition, there are two adjacent stations: Sanchajie Station (Binhai Express) allows passengers to exit and walk to Line 1 Sanchajie Station, while Mindu Station allows passengers to exit and walk to Line 2 Shuibu Station. However, it should be noted that regardless of the type of ticket or card used, exiting and transferring will be considered two separate trips, and passengers will be charged accordingly.
The econd phase of Line 13 is 8.3 kilometers long, with a total of 4 stations; the second phase of Line 14 is 9 kilometers long, with a total of 7 stations.
The second phase of Line 16 is 9.54 kilometers long, with a total of 8 stations; the second phase of Branch Line 6 is 4.95 kilometers long, with a total of 3 stations.
