The Opening of Ningbo Metro Line 6

Starting from the first train on the morning of January 16, Phase I of Ningbo Metro Line 6 commenced initial operation. Phase I has 24 stations, all underground, with a total length of 39.6 km; Ningbo West Hub Station will be opened later. At present, the line runs from Gulin Station in the west to Beilun Honglian Station in the east. The first trains from both terminal stations depart at 6:00, and the last trains at 22:00. Trains use 6-car B-type sets, with a top speed of up to 100 km/h.

Ningbo Rail Transit plans to pilot express/rapid services on Line 6. Xieshu Station and Huishilu Station are passing stations with conditions for train overtaking; express/rapid trains will stop only at the terminal stations and the seven transfer stations along the route. Note, however, that the in-station transfer passages at Zhengda Road Station and Cuibaili Station are not yet open; passengers need to transfer outside the stations and must complete the transfer within 30 minutes after exiting.
